What happens when we flip the power narrative of theatre for young audiences and enable students to write their own plays in which they cast and direct professional adult actors? Find out with this free public performance of plays written by Mumford High School and GEE White Academy students and performed by Detroit professional actors.

Black and Brown Theatre was founded in the summer of 2016 to address the inequity of casting in the professional Michigan theatre scene and create more opportunities for theatre artists of color. Black and Brown Theatre likes to say "the goal is to fail" and by that we mean, we hope that in the next 5-10 years other theatre companies will employ theatre artists of color so often that we won't be necessary.
