"We Put the unity in opportunity"

events

We host workshops and staged readings to give our artists opportunities to hone in their skills.

MISSION IN ACTION

We host workshops and staged readings to give our artists opportunities to hone in their skills.

Black and Brown Theatre was founded in the summer of 2016 to address the inequity of casting in the professional Michigan theatre scene and create more opportunities for theatre artists of color. Black and Brown Theatre likes to say "the goal is to fail" and by that we mean, we hope that in the next 5-10 years other theatre companies will employ theatre artists of color so often that we won't be necessary.

We have special performances catered to youth that focus on conflict resolution & self esteem and are performed in the schools.
